Likely m65 long action. When they were marketed in north america it was under ithica lsa 65. When ithaca fell apart you could find actions where tikka milled the lsa xx off and restamped to mxx. Tikka a subsiduary of sako was finally taken over by sako.or associated larger corp. I cant recall what my rifles say as a have several of them plus old literature to support the rifles.

The first three digits of the serial number (actually first 2) define model. 65 is m65 and 55 is m55 with offset feed to try to uniformly stiffen the action. Mag was moved opposite the direction of the port thereby stiffening the right side if the action. All steel rifles with forged one piece bolts. Your rifle has two locking lugs and two additional safety lugs as backup. I remember LSA rifles being marketed out of the Garcia Corporation. A fair amount of Garcia product made it into Alberta Gun Stores during the early 70's.
I think Ruko Canada was involved with Garcia. Allsports was selling Garcia as well. I am not sure if the two were connected, but they seemed to have held a monopoly in Alberta. That's the first time I heard that.
I know they were heavily involved in the Sako rifles but never did see literature from them on the Tikka line. When Ithaca packed it in a dealer in Ontario picked up the balance of parts from Ithaca USA. If you have any literature on the Garcia line it would be interesting to see.
Come to think of it I have some other documents on the subject and don't recall seeing Garcia in that either, but I would love to see some. That's the first time I heard that. Come to think of it I have some other documents on the subject and don't recall seeing Garcia in that either, but I would love to see some. The first place to look is at the early seventies Ithaca catalogues with the introduction of the LSA line. You will also remember the SKB shotguns.
I recall the LSA rifles being distributed in the last issues of the Ithaca catalogues. Take a look at the catalogue that had the introduction of the Ithaca Mag 10 Semi Auto. I am doing this all from memory.:) The Garcia Tikka association come from catalogues that used to also sell a lot of fishing equipment.
That is why I was pointing to Ruko. I do not think I am correct though. People like Dottie from the Arcade and Lefty Canuck's Dad used to deal with stuff like this, but they are gone now. I will see what else I can dig up. This is just from memory. Here are a few of pictures showing a Remington 700 SA and a Tikka M55 - Ithace LSA 55 action. The last photo shows the HD right rail on the Tikka compared to the Remington which is milled out on the top and bottom.
Top view - actions in same position: comparison.jpg Top view - Rem action rotated 180 degrees to compare same rail: comparisontopview.jpg Bottom view - Tikka action rotated 180 degrees to compare same rail and both flipped upside down to see right rails - note the integral lug the Tikka has: comparisonbottomview.jpg. Got a good look at it tonight Has TIKKA M-65 on the receiver delux model in very good to excellent condition. What would be a fair deal for both of us. Again thanks to all who helped identify this beauty. Phil picture would help. Is the M65 stamped in a recessed or milled out window on the left side of the action?
If so it was a LSA65 in its beginning. Checkering on the underside of the forend would signify later production Tikka labelling. They also made a continental with HB in the long action. I think we posted some ranges for you already.
